JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The Analytical Chemist will perform Extractables and Leachables testing (E&L) on polymeric materials and identify degredation products and impurities.
  • Perform extraction, analysis, and characterization of extractables and leachables from polymeric materials
  • Operate a variety of chromatographic and spectroscopic systems including GC-MS, LC, and LC/MS/MS
  • Perform forced degradation studies to identify degradation products and impurities
  • Gather, record, analyze, interpret, and provide written reports of results
  • Communicate with staff and clients as needed
  • Train staff on department-related procedures including equipment usage
  • Adhere to GLP and ISO regulations
  • Review and revise SOPs and forms
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and coordinate with the purchasing department for restocking
  • Maintain and troubleshoot analytical equipment
  • Maintain an efficient and clean work area

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • BS/BA in Chemistry or related scientific field
    • Experience performing Extractables and Leachables testing required
    • Experience identifying unknown compounds
    • Experience working with analytical equipment including LC, LC/MS/MS, HPLC, and GC-MS
    • Experience working in GLP and ISO environment preferred
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
