JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provide Immunotoxicology expertise at all stages of discovery and development for all cell and gene therapy programs
  • Design and monitors experiments conducted at CROs
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership to the organization on scientific matters
  • Develop in vitro and in vivo models of immune-related effects with the goal of translatability
  • Maintain an industry leading expertise in Immunotoxicology as it related to cell and gene therapeutics
  • Role requires a strong appreciation for research but a focus on product development and IND-enabling preclinical studies
  • Strong communication skills are critical as this role will be part of a larger cross-functional organization with multiple product development areas
  • Adapt quickly to technical and/or industry changes in a rapidly advancing field
  • Develop a budget and make decisions on administrative and operational matters for the team 

 

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • At least 10 years (or PhD and 5 years) of relevant experience in immunology, immunotoxicology, toxicology or related discipline
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a regulated healthcare environment with deep expertise in immunological techniques and assays
    • Demonstrated understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is required
    • Knowledge of Health Authority regulations and guidelines for the development of cell and gene therapies is preferred
    • Established expertise in Immunotoxicology is required
    • Experience with cell and gene therapies is preferred
    • The ability to work in a fast-paced, small company environment that demands rapid progress and creative problem solving
    • The ability to communicate data and results both internally and externally and to manage collaborations with academia and industry partners
    • The ability to manage multiple therapeutic programs in parallel and prioritize according to the needs of the company while delivering on key milestones
    • Advanced degree such as M.S. or DVM or Ph.D. (Ph.D. preferred) in biological sciences such as immunology, immunotoxicology, toxicology or related discipline
